Enough Said

Imagine if we could just Mute the entire world for a minute..... I wish I could capture the feeling and essence of that. Perhaps I will simply imagine and try.

Allegorical Mountain.

A reference guide to symbolic alpinism in contemporary pop music. By: Script & Seal.

INCREDIBLE. ( Thanks Alice! )

I had a history with an alpinist, once upon a time. In theory, it sounded romantic to live far up in the smoky mountains and be disconnected from everyone and everything. Intriguing, but not my life.

I found the experience of climbing mountains a spiritual one. I am forever fascinated by true alpinists and their achievements climbing mountains beyond mountains that nobody has ever climbed. Explorers, hiking to the highest peaks and trekking through rugged wilderness and sleeping on the side of mountains.

I climb mountains as a form of being connected to a higher form of existence. Mountains not only appear to be majestic, they feel like it. Playing with gravity can be exhilarating as it is dangerous..At times, it doesn't hurt to feel like you are living on the edge of the world.

The Universe House.

Universe House in Oaxaca//Tatiana Bilbao: Architecture D.F.

Sioux, Prisma + Proa.

In the diagram of their subterranean mental history
a constellation of memories exists
beneath this weight-filled blanket
wandering in these labyrinths
through the vertiginous symmetries of infinity.

Wearing mirrors around their necks
as the Huichol Indian Tribe would do
trekking for miles and miles through
the endless desert
for a sense of reflection and self-discovery

except they trek through the cosmic lands
dripped in honey
with feminine dresses
navigating through this spiritual dark + light

deciding to sail
sail their heart caves

they send off the sail-boat filled glass bottles
with a piece of optical phosphorescent selenite

so whomever finds it down here,
can place the optical selenite on the sail boat

witness the rainbow darts of light
contained in the heart cave

with all it's minerals, birds, fish, algebra, architectures and fire
the complexity & fragility of the human or non-human heart

Sioux, Prisma + Proa are the future nomad wanderers
curving their shoulders and saying something philosophic
exuding a brilliance
so radiant and transcendent

the elaborate compass takes off with its wings
toward the path of the squid and the whales

from one end to another
the infinite universe with all its inhabitants

and what is the purpose they thought?
these celestial beings decided to tap into
their innate creative minds for change

they decided it really was time to take the risk
and no longer remain tight in a bud (as Anais would think)

making a pact
for shape-shifting

on the backs of the giraffes,
they disappeared into the wilderness.....

Artefact Pt II

Functional Space.

I oddly have a fascination with parking garages. Not all parking garages (of course) but there are some really nice ones.

I am on a quest to find a parking garage with high ceilings to host our space for multi-media performance + art show.

CITIZEN YOGA meets GRAVITRON DANCE.

My friend Chelsea and I are hosting a combination of Aerial Dance + Yoga classes in East Austin beginning mid-September. The location for our practice is a circus tent. For realz! It's going to be fun and a different twist on what is traditional. We are both into more experimental and not allowing names to dictate one's expectations of what could be a preconceived notion. Yoga is open to interpretation as well as dance. elegant body mechanics keep your muscles lean. Come!

Variations on Invisibility.

Variations on Invisibility.
ABSTRACT Project for School in Netherlands. August 2007

- Variations on Invisibility -

Scene 1: I am sitting on a chair, a human replica enters through a door and sits next to myself and waves hello. We both look identical, although I am about
to enter another reality while the other me really sits and absorbs everything. I actually experience these different realities.
In this scene,we both wear our charcoal masks and there are these same masks projected all around us.
I look and point at my clock and wave good-bye and depart through other existing door.
Interjection: A stick figure with a mask erased.

Scene 2: I open the door and step foot to another reality- A party situation.
I am trying to talk to people, yet nobody acknowledges my presence. It feels as though I am invisible to them.
I fall onto the ground. feelings of trauma. i manage to get myself up and step outside of the door and ready for a new reality.
The charcoal mask projects an extrovert. So awkward and weird.
Interjection: Reflection-less. ( TEXT AS SEEN BACKWARD FROM A MIRROR )

Scene 3: Walk through another door into another reality. This one takes place outdoors.
A girl is putting on her make-up and you see the reflection of herself and the cars passing by
on the mirror. I look into the mirror and see only the reflection of the cars passing by, not
myself. I take five foot-steps toward the door, open it- enter.
Interjection: Stick figures covering every inch of the paper.

Scene 4: The door opens quietly and I step foot into a situation where I look just like everyone else.
I hide, you hide, we all hide.
Now, i don't know where I am or who I am.
We all wear the same clothing, same garments.
I blend in perfectly, it's as if I am invisible within my environment. The Camouflage effect- Where's Waldo-effect.
Everyone in the room wears this special garment that makes them invisible. It is simply blue string wrapped
carefully around their hands as they stand in a circle and hold hands. Although, you may not see their live flesh or skin on their hands
you also do not see their faces. We all wear a collage piece mask on our faces, and essentially wear faces not of our own.Our eyes are covered, so we may not see anything, everything and everyone remains invisible. What is not seen, is not perceived as visible.
I walk out the door.

Scene 5: I open the door and step foot into a separate reality.
At this point, I consciously cross the line between
invisibility and visibility.
I remove the mask from my face and start to unravel the blue
strings around my hands, arms, and face.
Suddenly, there are close-ups of my face, my fingers, my arms.
Every human detail is so visible and now naked and exposed to the human eye.
Any Darkness or shadows disintegrate into the earth.

End.
